Examination Rules

All the following regulations are only valid for German students.

Examinations up to 2. Kyu will be hold by our association's main instructor Gerald Eisenack Sensei at national German seminars. Examinations for 5. Kyu could also be held by the local dojo instructor and two other yudansha. Examinations for 4. - 2. Kyu could also be held by the regional head instructor and two other dojo instructors ore yudansha. All examiners have to be members of our national association and the Kokusai Renmei. Graduations are of our national association.

Examinations up from 1. Kyu will be hold at international seminars of the Kokusai Renmei. Graduations are international graduations of the Kokusai Renmei. Our examinees have to members of the Kokusai Renmei too. 

Requirements:

  • Examinees should carefully consider their own progress and their readiness to take on more responsibility before registering for any examination.
  • Without regular practice no progress is possible. Registration will only be approved if the examinee has practiced continuously for an extended period (specific length depends on the grade). Regular practice is defined as practicing at least once a week - longer breaks will correspondingly extend the waiting period. The minimum waiting periods between grades are listed in the table below.All practice sessions should be documented and the list given to the main instructor during the online registration process. Practice sessions are only considered after becoming member of the association.
  • Examinations are divided in a theoretical and a practical part. Examinees wil only be admitted to the practical examinations after they have passed the theoretical part.
  • Applications for the examination have to be submitted in writing and within the formal deadlines by the local Dojo instructor and sent online to the association's main instructor. The deadlines for the applications are:
    • 12 weeks before the practical examination for 1. Kyu and higher
    •   4 weeks before the practical examination for Kyu-examinations up to 2. Kyu.
  • Minimum age for testing for 1. Dan is 18 years.
