Kokusai Renmei
Ippan Shadanhoujin Seitou Seiryu Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido Kokusai Renmei
一般社団法人正統正流無雙直傳英信流居合道国際連盟
On 2 May 2011, our new umbrella association „Ippan Shadanhoujin Seitou Seiryu Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido Kokusai Renmei” (abbreviated as “Kokusai Renmei”) was founded.
board of directors:
- President: Esaka Seigen Sensei
- Chief Director: Esaka Seigen Sensei
- Directors: Matsumoto Tadashi Sensei, Kobara Kenichi Sensei & Mochizai Shuichi Sensei
- Supervisor: Nashima Masao Sensei
Background: On the one hand, this decision was motivated by Esaka Sensei’s growing and deep concern about the survival and transmission of traditional technique within the Zen Nihon Iaido Renmei (ZNIR); on the other, there was the decision of the Soke about the status of non-Japanese Iaidoka. Esaka Sensei was unwilling to support these developments – not least due to his responsibility for us. For these reasons, Esaka Sensei has resigned from all his functions in May 2011 (vice-presidency of the ZNIR, presidency of the ZNIR in the Kanto region, including Tokyo), quit the ZNIR, and founded our new international umbrella association. We respect this decision of Esaka Sensei and trust in his leadership.
German shibu: We have been registered as German shibu (branch) of Kokusai Renmei in November 2011. President of the German shibu is Raymond Schröder, vice president is Martin Peter.
